Tips for Healthcare Pros on X

healthcare marketing platform guides social media strategy x
X (Twitter) strategy for doctors and healthcare professionals — Atria Social

Personally, X is not my favorite platform. They make it so hard for social media and marketing pros, but it’s a valuable platform especially in the healthcare industry.

If you’re in academic medicine, your peers are chirping here, and you’ll want to be part of the conversation.

X just clarified what they look for when pushing a post in front of more users, and I summarized it here:

🐥 Reply to comments ASAP. Thoughtful responses are better than a ❤️ or emojis.
🐥 When replying, ask a follow up question. X likes when there’s back-and-forth dialogue in the comments.
🐥 When replying, reference other posts of yours. The goal is to get users to click your bio to learn more.
🐥 Use excited / provoking / engaging language. If others are scrolling and click on your convo, X gives you extra points.
🐥 In your posts, invite people to share. Never hurts to ask.
🐥 In your posts, invite people to favorite (or save) it for later.
🐥 When posting a video, write something like “watch till the end for XYZ” in the caption.

The goal is to keep people on the app. At the end of the day, these social media platforms are businesses. They have competitors just like you do. So, they want their customers (users) to buy (spend time) their product (their platform) and not their competitor’s product (other platforms).

Hate it or love it, the platforms reward you when you play their game. 👾

I’m curious, how many people who saw this post are on X? If so, why do you like it? If not, why don’t you? 💭
